Dear Pre-k Families, 

I want to extend to you and your child my warmest welcome into our classroom. My name is Mrs. Christie and I will be your child’s Lead Teacher this year. This will be my third year teaching Pre-k but I have almost seven years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator. I graduated with a Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from OTC with a minor in Facility Management and have completed trainings each year. I will begin working on my BA in the near future.  I was given the rewarding title of Teacher of the Year in 2008. I am married to a wonderful man Ronnie and we welcomed our first child, Easton, into our family this past February. I enjoy spending lots of time with my family, outdoor activities, baseball, and shopping. I hope that you and your child enjoy your year in Pre-k and we look forward to getting to know your family.
My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and each child learns in a different way. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside with them to maximize it. I believe in hands-on experiences, learning creatively and learning though play. I am so honored to be your child’s teacher this school year! I will start out by telling you a little bit about me. My name is Miss Betsy Gwinnett a native to the small little ol’ town of Brooklet where I was born and raised.  I am a very proud mother to my beautiful baby girl Kaylen who also attends Smiles, Giggles, and Hugs. I have been working here since January 2010 and I have loved every minute of it. I also attend Ogeechee Technical College where I am working on getting my Early Childhood Care and Education Degree. I am very excited to be working with Mrs. Christie this upcoming year.  We work very well together and I know we will be having a lot of fun with your child! I have a great passion for young children which makes my job so amazing. I will be very caring, loving and nurturing to your child. Sincerely,
